Former Fannie Mae contractor accused in theft from foreclosed homes

In the following press release the Chandler (AZ) Police Department announced that on 09/25/08, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Jamie Pantastico in Queen Creek, Arizona. MCSO contacted Chandler Police Property Crimes Unit, and Chandler Detectives initiated an investigation into several crimes that occurred within the City of Chandler. During interviews after his arrest, Pantastico admitted to being a former contractor employed by Fannie Mae to clean foreclosed homes in preparation for re-sale in 2007 and 2008.

During his employment, Pantastico was granted access to the lock boxes of these homes, and Pantastico would locate addresses from the Fannie Mae website. In September of 2008, Pantastico would visit these homes and take photographs of the appliances inside the homes. He would then place an add for these appliances on Craigslist. Pantastico would meet potential buyers at the homes posing as the homeowner. After the appliances were sold and removed from the house, Pantastico would place the key back in the lock box and leave the area.

Chandler Detectives learned Pantastico conducted this scheme several times in Chandler in September of 2008. Chandler Police are looking for possible victims in the Chandler area or other parts of the valley and are encouraging victims to contact the Chandler Police Department at (480)782-4130.
